Stand Out

Read

Romans 12:2 “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Think

Tim Tebow: “You and I were created by God to be so much more than normal. Following the crowd is not a winning approach to life. In the end it’s a loser’s game, because we never become who God created us to be by trying to be like everybody else.”

Have you ever noticed someone who dresses in a way that just screams, “Look at me”? Maybe it’s a quirky tie or a dress that seems to emit its own light. We’ve all seen people who want to stand out, who want to be different. It makes you wonder, doesn’t it? Why do they do it? Well, Jesus also wants us to stand out, not because of our fashion choices, but because of how we live our lives.

Being different isn’t just about wearing bright colors or unique outfits. It’s about our actions, our decisions, and how we conduct ourselves in every aspect of life. This applies not only to our personal lives but also to our careers and businesses. As Christians in the marketplace, we’re called to stand out from the crowd, to operate with integrity, honesty, and love, even when it’s not the norm.

The reason we’re here on this earth, the very purpose of our existence, is to point others to God and bring him glory. This isn’t limited to our spiritual lives; it extends to every area, including our relationships and professions. Our behaviors, actions, and decisions in every aspect of our lives can either bring glory to God or detract from it.

We cannot fulfill our purpose and bring glory to God if we blend in seamlessly with the world around us. We’re called to stand out, to be a beacon of hope and light in a world that desperately needs it. When others see us living differently, they’ll inevitably ask why. And that’s our chance to share the reason for the hope that we have in Christ.

Apply

Seek holiness in everything you do, including your thoughts, words, and actions. Are you honoring God in all areas of your life? If not, admit your mistakes, and make changes to glorify him with your thoughts, words, and actions.

Pray

Jesus, forgive me for the times I have spoken or acted in ways that do not reflect you. Help me to seek holiness in every aspect of my life. May my words and actions reflect you to others. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, guiding me each step of the way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
