I Am With You

Read

Matthew 28:20 “Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Think

It's that familiar time after Easter again, isn't it? The laughter of children and the joy of family gatherings have subsided, leaving behind a trail of Easter remnants to clean up. As you walk through the house, you find yourself in the post-holiday cleanup routine. You bend down to rescue stray jelly beans, imagining the mess they would make if they were squished into the rug. You chuckle as you pick up a colorful ball of foil that missed its mark and spy a half-eaten chocolate rabbit under a bed. After gathering the Easter baskets and storing them in the attic, you confront the stubborn Easter grass that seems to have a life of its own. How did those shiny green strands manage to travel so far from where they were first unpacked? The signs of Easter are everywhere, reminding you of the beautiful chaos that comes with celebrating.

During this cleanup, a deeper realization settles in, much like the persistent Easter grass: Jesus' love and presence never leave us. Just as you find traces of Easter long after the day has passed, Jesus is with you always, in every season of life. So, as you vacuum up the last remnants of Easter grass, let it be a reminder of the presence of Jesus. He's there in the small moments of cleanup and in the big celebrations, weaving his grace into every aspect of your life. Let this knowledge bring you comfort and joy, knowing that you are never alone, and his love endures forever.

Apply

Reflect on past and current situations when you have felt alone. In Isaiah 41:10, God reminds us, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Thank God for his enduring presence and love in every season of your life.

Pray

Heavenly Father, thank you for your constant presence. Help me to be mindful in everyday tasks, not just in big celebrations, that you are with me. As I reflect on Easter, I am grateful for your grace, mercy and peace. Keep my heart open to your leading. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
